About Us
The history of our school
Our beautiful Lyndhurst Primary School (LPS) opened its doors to 363 learners and a few staff members on 29 April 1982. On the 30th of November 1982, Lyndhurst was officially opened by the Director of Education. However, what may almost be considered as an even more momentous occasion, on the 29th of April 1982, 363 children, staff members and several parents walked “up the hill” from New Germany Primary School to Lyndhurst Primary School.
In 1982, parents of children who were attending New Germany Primary School, and some other parents, opted for their children to move to the newly built Lyndhurst Primary School. Mr Ken Nixon, the principal of NGPS, was appointed as the principal of LPS.
Many stalwarts lead Lyndhurst over the past 42 years. They were as follows: Mr Nixon, Mr Stewart,Mr Ivor Greaves and Mr Hylton Bremner
